Although social networks do differ from the virtual worlds of gaming (they are typically *intended* as 'reflections' of a user's real life, as opposed to, perhaps, the 'extensions' that virtual gaming attempts), I think many people are still caught by the 'if it's on a computer, everything is a game' bug.
